I am a Fort Smith native, a graduate of Northside High School & the University of Arkansas. I was blessed to be adopted by beautician and a truck driver who provided a Christian foundation for life, to be raised on the north side of Fort Smith, and to have a diverse set of friends.

In my youth, I was an avid golfer. I fished, water skied, camped, played basketball, flag football and any other sport available to my age group. It was all about fun, family and friendship. As I have aged, I have slowed a bit. I am now a fair-weather golfer and looking for places to eat catfish.

I am an animal lover. I am a cat herder of some reputation and we love our dogs like family (only they are more spoiled). Would you like to see pictures of my "grand dogs"?

I have always been active in the community. I am partial to organizations that serve children. I was involved in the early stages and site selection for The First Tee. Currently, I'm involved in fundraising and planning for a new softball field at Martin Luther King Park to serve Boys Club Little League and as the home field for the Northside Lady Bears Softball Team.

I was involved in and supportive of the early stages of site selection and budgeting for the new Hope Campus to serve the homeless. I am currently the Chair of the Salvation Army Board of Advisors. One of my favorite activities is to plan a meal and cook at the Salvation Army’s Red Shield Diner.
